Custom Trade Show Booth Case Study – Global Refining Group

When working with custom trade show clients, we encounter many different clients that span countless industries. This is what is so exciting about our work – we get to learn more about familiar companies and brands, and in some cases we learn about industries that we never even knew existed. Each of our clients has unique needs, so during the design and fabrication process, we are kept on our toes. Our custom trade show team assesses the client’s brand from every angle to determine design, functionality, and technology.

Global Refining Group

One of our recent projects was a custom trade show booth for Global Refining Group. They were attending the ARA Show in Charlotte and needed something to showcase their brand as an industry leader with cutting edge technology and processes. The custom trade show booth we helped Global Refining Group fabricate was just that – sleek and modern, with a technology edge. The simple lines, colors, and metal evoke technology, while the wood floors are down to earth, providing a balance that keeps visitors feeling grounded.

Technology mixes with earthy in this well-balanced custom trade show booth.

The clients were duly impressed with the trade show display, as were other trade show attendees.

“We received many compliments on the booth and in my opinion we were by far the best there!” said the client after the show was over.

That’s what we love to hear. We enjoyed collaborating to design the trade show booth and we enjoyed learning about what Global Refining Group does. We even learned some interesting facts along the way.

Global Refining Group is a catalytic converter recycling and processing company that serves clients worldwide. Their processing system is one of the most efficient in the world and they have spent years of research and millions of dollars on its development.

Have you ever hear of platinum group metals? These are the metals that are being recycled and processing by Global Refining Group. They are a family of six precious metallic elements clustered together on the periodic table. The six metals are ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, and platinum. These metals are resistant to wear and tarnish, chemical attack, possess excellent high-temperature characteristics and stable electrical properties, which makes them useful in a variety of applications. Check out Global Refining Group’s website if you want to learn more about what they do: http://globalrefininggroup.com/

One of the reasons we love this business so much is learning about what our clients do and helping you design something that will facilitate a part of what you do, whether it’s corporate office design, trade show booth design, or museum fabrication. ADM Two doesn’t just envision potential, we make your vision a reality. We can even help you with your sustainable trade show practices, which will save you money and help the planet. Give us a call at (813) 887-1960, and one of our knowledgeable staff can assist you with design ideas. Thanks to Our Trade Show, Museum Design, and Corporate Environment Clients

The Florida Aquarium Anniversary Wall. Museum Design.

The Florida Aquarium Anniversary Wall.

Lately, we have been so busy that we hardly have time to eat. As any business owner knows, this is a great thing, and we want to thank our trade show clients, our museum design fabrication clients, and our corporate environment clients for keeping us busy. The fact is, your business is our business, and our success is directly linked to each and every one of our you. As a family owned and run business, our hearts are in our work, so we treat everyone that walks through our door as a member of our ever-expanding family.

As we enter the holiday season, we thought this would be a good time to reflect on how fortunate we are. Just this year alone, we’ve worked on some incredible projects, won some awards, and helped some clients avert disaster. We are growing more rapidly than ever, and we brought on a new member of our family/team, Tony Ricci. It’s like he has always been a part of our family; we just can’t imagine life without him. Our client family has grown rapidly as well, and throughout the holiday season, we are going to highlight some of our client projects, starting with The Florida Aquarium.

The history of The Aquarium began when it was still the Clearwater Marine Science Center. In 1985 a group of consultants assessed the Clearwater Marine Science Center and recommended an overhaul – in order for the center to compete in the national aquarium scene, it needed a major makeover and more educational and research opportunities.

Finally, ten years later, on March 31, 1995, The Florida Aquarium opened its doors at The Garrison Seaport Center in Tampa, FL. In the years since its grand opening, The Florida Aquarium has served 13 million Tampa Bay residents and tourists, bringing a huge economic thrust to the community. Now, 20 years later, The Florida Aquarium has become a major destination in the Tampa Bay area. Nearly every year since it opened its doors, The Aquarium has introduced new educational programs, research centers, care centers, and attractions.

This year, for The Florida Aquarium’s 20th Anniversary, we had the pleasure of working with The Aquarium and designer Mary Anna Murphy to fabricate a custom museum design. We helped to create a series of displays with several walls that showcased The Aquarium’s history, artifacts, and a photo opp wall featuring a mermaid.

The 20th Anniversary display wasn’t the first time ADM Two has completed museum design alongside The Aquarium. In 2006, we helped complete the Aquariumania display, which has been a hit with people of all ages. In 2007, ADM Two helped The Aquarium fabricate a touch tank and mural wall for the Horseshoe Crab Lagoon. The exhibit is one that blends education with fun – a hallmark of The Florida Aquarium. We have thoroughly enjoyed our journey thus far with The Florida Aquarium, and look forward to continuing to offer our hand in designing and fabricating new exhibits for years to come.

ADM Two has also fabricated exhibits for the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa and the Six Mile Cypress Preserve Environmental Center in Ft. Myers, FL, among others. Trade Show Team Building

Your booth design is flawless, your marketing plan is in place, and all of your collateral is ready to ship – what about your trade show team? Your people are essential parts of your trade show display – they are the ambassadors of your company, and they help to tell the story. Even if everything else is perfect, if you don’t have a cohesive trade show team, your booth will have difficulty succeeding. Part of what makes a trade show team effective is… you guessed it: teamwork.

Conduct a meeting for trade show team building.

Conduct a meeting for trade show team building.

Well before your staff prepares to board the flight to their trade show destination, you should make sure they communicate and collaborate well. This is especially true if you have people from several different departments who rarely work together. In a large company, it’s possible that they’ve never even met. Here are a few tips to start prepping your trade show team:

  • Organize a meeting for introductions and brainstorming about goals.
  • Hold training sessions on trade show etiquette and working the trade show booth for the entire group.
  • During the training sessions, have the group get together in teams to play a game for a fun way to build trust and learn more about each other.
  • Meet to discuss the marketing plan so that each trade show team member knows his/her role, and make sure they are able to support each other in the event that someone needs coverage.
  • Take the team out for a team building experience and dinner before the show so they can get to know each other a little better.

After the trade show is over, take some time to give feedback, not just to individuals, but to the team as a whole. If they know that their performance in the group is just as important as their individual achievements, they are more likely to contribute for the advancement of the whole team, which promotes harmony.

Hold a follow-up meeting in which you ask the trade show team to share individual stories, and ask them to share their own feedback. When you ask for feedback from the staff, you are demonstrating your respect for their opinions, which is empowering. Creating this atmosphere of empowerment can boost your staff members’ confidence, which is always a positive trait on the trade show floor.

Creating an exciting and engaging trade show booth starts with choosing a great trade show team to staff your booth. Trade show booth design is also key. Corporate Environment Design – In Case You Missed It

Corporate environment design has become an area of fast growth for us as more and more companies are paying attention to workers’ needs, sustainability, comfort, and ever-advancing technology. Our favorite part is the design process, as we assess branding, graphics, layout, and work with the client to create a space that tells their story and serves their staff and customers. It is always fascinating to compare before and after photos – the drastic difference even a few updates make is incredible.

In our article, “Corporate Environment Design Benefits,” we discuss some of the elements such as furniture and even color, that can make a huge difference in a space. Clients are dazzled by the transformation a simple coat of paint can create.

Our article, “Custom Corporate Environment Case Study: Alumi-Guard,” we show the before and after photos – and every step in between – of the process of updating Alumi-Guard’s reception area. The space went from drab and boring to spectacular with just a few simple tweaks. This case study is proof that corporate environment design does not have to be complicated or expensive, but hiring professionals will make the process easier and more efficient.

Trade Show Technology – Apps to Make Your Life Easier

trade show technology apps

Make your life easier with trade show technology.

It’s incredible how far trade show technology has come, and for good reason. There are just some things that are better suited to time saving apps, such as business card organization and expense reporting. We’ve all been in the situation, whether at a trade show or on a regular day, of struggling to keep up with organizing and cataloguing the many business cards we receive.

“Show after show, exhibit managers and attendees alike pack a box of the rectangular paper cards in anticipation of exchanging them and increasing their respective professional networks (and scoring a few leads). Though functional, business cards take up space, are easy to misplace, and are only as durable as the paper they are printed on.” – Exhibitor Online

CamCard came up with a solution to the age old problem of business cards, with an app that scans business cards, pulls the contact information, and adds it to a database that can be accessed from several devices. Expensify simplifies your expense reporting hassles with a similar scan-and-go type app that includes a paid option so your entire company can be organized from a single account. There are apps to solve just about any problem you come across at a trade show.

Trade Show Checklist – Trying to Remember it All

First thing on the trade show checklist is the trade show checklist!

First thing on the trade show checklist is the trade show checklist!

The moment you decide to participate in a trade show, start your trade show checklist. There are so many things to remember that the trade show checklist is not just important – it is essential for success. Failure to adhere to the trade show checklist could be disastrous.

We recommend breaking the trade show checklist down into sections. Below is a sample that may help you get started. Depending on your industry, you may need to add and subtract items and sections, but this list will give you a general idea of what your list will look like.

Marketing Materials

  • Business cards
  • Brochures
  • Rack cards
  • Folders
  • Giveaways
  • Prizes

Staff

  • Business attire
  • Dinner wear for any after parties or dinners during the event
  • Casual clothes for down time
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Bathing suit

Trade Show Checklist – Booth Design

  • Graphics are professionally designed and exemplify your brand
  • Wires are hidden for aesthetic and safety purposes

  • All elements of the booth are where they should be
  • You have an area for storage space
  • Lighting, computer/television screens and all electronics are functioning properly

Sustainable Trade Show Practices

Sustainable trade show practices will help your business go green!

Sustainable trade show practices will help your business go green!

Running an earth friendly business does not have to be difficult or expensive, and it is important for the future of the planet. Sustainable trade show practices are an essential part of operating a greener business, so here are a few tips to get you started.

  • Reuse pieces of your previous exhibits. If your exhibit needs updating, consider having a company like ADM Two custom alter the pieces of the exhibit. That way, you don’t have to throw anything away, and you still get a whole new exhibit.
  • Use sustainable materials.
  • When you are traveling to another city, consider what pieces of your exhibit you can rent locally. This saves huge amounts of gas (and money) on shipping.
  • Use recycled products or compostable products as giveaways.
  • Use energy efficient products and lighting, as well as solar technology to save on electricity.
  • Use digital materials instead of printed materials. Have visitors sign up for email materials using an iPad kiosk. If you must use printed materials, make sure they are printed on recycled paper.

“We love a challenge, so when a client comes to us with a piece that they want to repurpose, we have the opportunity to be extra creative,” says Shannon Bennett, VP of Sales and Marketing at ADM Two.

Such was the case with the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art. They wanted to repurpose a television stand, so we created an iPad dock and counter in their Interactive Gallery. Check out the story here: Recycling Materials for a Greener Museum Exhibit.

ADM Two doesn’t just envision potential, we make your vision a reality. Creating an exciting and engaging museum exhibit starts with choosing a great team to help with design. Trade Show Display Fabrication: The Best and Brightest

As technology surges forward, trade show display fabrication has evolved with it. In order to compete with your neighbors, you need to be more innovative, more agile, and more informed. Below are a few tips to keep your trade show display fabrication fresh and ahead of the curve.

  1. Research – look around at trade show websites such as www.TSNN.com, exhibitoronline.com and other resources for trade show professionals. They often feature award-winning booths from different trade shows, in addition to articles on new technology and cost-effective trade show display fabrication.
  2. Brainstorm – once you have some information about what is available, start writing down your own ideas for trade show display fabrication. Write down any and all ideas as they come. Sometimes the “worst” ideas end up being the “best.”
  3. Take some cues from theater set design and other design elements that are not necessarily associated with trade show booth design. This could really set you apart from the crowd.
  4. Incorporate technology. Keep up with the latest trade show technology as well as the latest social media trends. Sign up for a technology newsletter or some other source of information that can keep you on the cutting edge.
  5. Write down all your ideas and sketches, and share them with a trade show display fabrication professional such as ADM Two.

That IS what we do best, after all – ‘Make your vision a reality.’ Our trade show booth design brings the client’s vision to life,” says Susan Canonico, CEO of ADM Two.

Corporate Environment Design Benefits

Corporate environments are becoming increasingly design-oriented, comfortable, and fun. While incorporating all three of these elements may not be a good fit for your brand or your budget, it is a wise decision to assess your corporate environment – both functionally and aesthetically.

Think about your product or service. How do you want potential clients to view you and your business? When was the last time you updated your office interior? If it’s been a long time, and if you want your clients to picture a drab, fluorescent-lit, white-walled bore, then don’t change a thing. If, on the other hand, you want to convey a smart, or fun, or brazen company and culture, then you are going to have to rethink your office interior.

The Priel Salon wanted a luxurious yet sophisticated feel for their corporate environment.

The Priel Salon wanted a luxurious yet sophisticated feel for their corporate environment.

Hiring a professional corporate environment designer and fabricator can take some of the guess-work out of creating your vision. A professional designer can recommend colors, fabrics, artwork, furniture, technology, and anything else that will help to define your brand.

Corporate Environment Color

Color plays a powerful role in your message. You will probably want to use your logo colors, but you should consider incorporating other complimentary or contrasting colors to achieve a certain feel. There is a science to color – a professional designer will know how to convey your message with color.

Images/graphics

Use images of your previous projects, your team outings, and cool company graphics as wall art. If your firm does creative work, consider showcasing some of your projects on the walls.

Furniture

Think about your clients, guests and employees. You want everyone who walks in the door to be comfortable. Happy employees do better work and comfortable guests and clients return, which means you have more work. Make sure they feel at home. What better way to keep them coming back?

Lighting

Lighting is important no matter where you are. Create a homelike feel with warm lamps and get rid of the fluorescents – no one likes them.
