The Interpretive Center at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve

Ft. Myers, FL, 11,000 square feet

The Six Mile Cypress Preserve Environmental Center is a hands-on environmental gallery created within an 11,000-sq. ft. Interpretive Center and is Lee County Parks & Recreation’s first certified green building. This new series of exhibits was created to engage and educate visitors on the slough environment surrounding the center. Visitors learn how to experience the trail including plant life, animal habitats and environmental effects through multiple interactive exhibits. Other areas demonstrate the history of the area, importance of conservation and current events through the use of rich text panels and striking photographs.
